The experimental short film PÖLS draws a mental map of a house as it goes through time. Shot on s16mm, it is a personal artistic essay, which uses the objects of a household as a starting point to trace and interweave the threads of history that run through the house and the region.
Themes of memory, collective memory and the culture of remembrance are explored in the film. The aim of the editing is to create a free, associative flow of images and sounds that enables the viewer to read and experience the spaces within the film PÖLS as a historical palimpsest.
